Dear Parents & Guardians,

On behalf of all at St Joseph’s F.C. in the 25th anniversary year of the club, I would like to extend a warm welcome to both new and returning players for the 2023/2024 season!

We are delighted to see the start of return of players for pre-season training and look forward to another successful season. We are anticipating numbers to continue to grow and while delighted with this trend, we recognize the strain it puts on training facilities and coaching resources. We will continue to do our best to look after and develop all our young players as best we can within our means. This would not be possible without the work and dedication of our coaches, managers, executive committee members and volunteers who give freely of their time week after week for the benefit of your children. A massive thanks to them for all their efforts! We are always looking for more help – it is particularly important that we have a good coach to player ratio, both for the safety and for the development of the children. Please reach out to team coaches or any executive member to see how you can help.

I include below some key items of information for the season ahead:

Communications: We will continue to use the ClubZap app for club and team communications, player and member registrations, and for making online payments (https://clubzap.com/download).

Registration: It is mandatory that all children are fully registered with the club in advance of league start in August/September. Any registration queries should be directed to the manager/coach of the associated age group.

Fees: In previous years, registration fees and training/match fees were treated separately. We understand that this led to some confusion and therefore have decided to amalgamate the two costs into one individual figure for the upcoming season. The total fee remains broadly in line with last year. The optional facility for staged payments will remain in place to lessen the burden of a single lump sum payment. 2023/24 fees:

Note: the fees for the older age groups also incorporates referee/match fees, and for U12 upwards, it covers two training slots per week. St Joseph’s FC do not own any of our training or playing facilities and must pay rental costs for the use of Cushla and other facilities. The fees help cover these costs and is vital for the continuing financial viability of the club.

We do have several new faces on the executive committee this year and a very warm welcome to our new members. I am looking forward to building on the successes of recent years and to continue to move the club forward with their support. Huge thanks to our outgoing members for all their work over many years. Finally, I would like to wish all our players the very best for the season ahead. I hope they have fun, make friends, stay fit & healthy, and continue to develop a love for the game. Hopefully we can also build on the successes of recent years.
