Dear Parents/Guardians
With the Christmas Holidays almost upon us and with all league and cup action on the filed taking its annual winter break, on behalf of the SJFC Committee, I want to wish you all our players and their families a very Happy Christmas and a Peaceful and prosperous New Year.
The past year has been a very busy and successful year both on and off the field for the club. 2024 saw the Club make history once again after adding the SFAI U16 National title in May to the u15 National title won in 2023. This was a remarkable achievement for all concerned and brought much deserved acclaim and recognition to the club both locally and nationally. The past year saw the establishment of our first girls’ team with the club entering an U10 girls’ team in the MSL. The Girls have acquitted themselves well in league competition to date and we are all delighted with their progress and development. We wish the team and their coaches well going forward in the New Year. In addition to our SFAI success, several of our Club teams enjoyed league and Cup success across a number of age groups in the various MSL competitions last season.
2024, also saw the Club appoint Mr Padraig Moran as our first Director of Football. This appointment shows the long-term vision of the Club to its overall commitment to the development of our coaching structures within the club which will hopefully contribute to the continuous development of all our young players.
I want to thank all our players for your commitment and dedication over the past year and to all our various coaching/management teams across all age groups. The endless hours of of dedication, commitment and passion shown for your teams and our players is truly remarkable and to be commended. For this we are most grateful as a Club to have so many talented and enthusiastic coaches/volunteers.
St. Josephs FC is highly regarded within the MSL and around the country and for a club to function, we are indebted to the many volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes throughout the year to run the club. I want to thank all the executive committee members for their hard work, time, dedication and loyalty over the past year. Every successful club or organisation has at its core a very strong and hard-working committee. I want to express my thanks to all the committee members for the vested interest they have in the successful running of our Club.
This year we embarked on a wide range of fundraising initiatives. The funds raised all go back into the running of the club and to ensure that our coaches and players have all the necessary facilities/equipment and playing gear required. We wish to thank wholeheartedly, all the many local businesses and sponsors who have given so generously to our Club over the past year. To those who have donated financially to our annual Club Calendar, supported our various fundraising events or sponsored new playing kit for our various club teams, we are most grateful. The generosity and support from our local businesses with each passing year is overwhelming and we are indebted to all who support our club. We hope to continue to build on the strong relationships we have with all our many sponsors and the many businesses in our locality for many years to come.
